Discussion: How do you solo PvP in an Arazu?

I want to get into solo PvP with the Arazu. It can point from a ridiculous range, but the damage is pretty low. Does anyone have fit suggestions or tactics for making solo Arazu work? Or is solo Arazu a bad idea and I should just forget it? I’m mainly thinking lowsec and wormholes, hunting cruisers and the occasional destroyer or explorer, not trying to brawl battleships. I’ve been looking at the usual cloaky setup with a faction point and some buffer or active tank, but I keep running into the same problem: I can hold the target and I can’t kill it before help shows up.

If you’re set on soloing in an Arazu, the fit matters less than what you actually engage. The long point is the ship. The damage isn’t going to save a bad fight. Watch fast frigates. A lot of them will just orbit under your guns, and if they’ve got a scram or a web you’re no longer the one picking the range. Interceptors are worse. You point them, they close, and you can’t apply. Slower cruisers, people ratting, explorers, anything that can’t quickly get under you or call friends... that’s the list. Land at the edge of your point, hold them there, and leave as soon as a second ship shows up. You’re hunting, not brawling. If they get to choose the range, you’re already done.

if i was gonna pvp in an arazu i'd skip the tank and just fit for speed. thing is paper anyway. you get scrammed and you're dead, extra plate just means it takes them a couple extra seconds.

Six mids are the ship. A workable lowsec and wormhole hunter uses a covert-ops cloak, a faction warp disruptor, two remote sensor dampeners with targeting-range scripts, a sensor booster with a scan-resolution script, and a microwarpdrive. The fourth high is a spare: a probe launcher if you are scanning your own warps, otherwise empty. Lows are damage control, a nanospeed or polycarbon for align, and either a light buffer or nothing. Rigs go to warp speed or lock speed, not to a second trimark.
